Buy a sponsorship package, and help provide safe classrooms in India

Teaching in India has previously taken place in thatched roof buildings, but due to a massive fire at a school in southern India in 2004 killing 92 children, officials in India's southern Tamil Nadu state have now ordered shut at least 350 schools after the major fire.

17 of the schools shut down were Acot Lutheran Church's - DanChurchAid's partner in India who for more than 20 years have been teaching some of the area's poorest children.

Shutting down schools has been and still is very critical for the children in India - cutting them off from a minimum of education.

Help provide safe classrooms in India by buying the sponsorship package "Building schools in India". The price is fixed - DKK 20,000 (approx. USD 3402) - covering materials, constructions and project coordination.
