Open Society Institute (OSI)

The Open Society Institute (OSI) is a private foundation started by investor and philanthropist George Soros in 1993 as part of the Open Society Foundations. The OSI’s main objective is to promote democracy, good governance, human rights and economic, legal and social reform through open and inclusive public policies.

Together with Danida the OSI has co-funded a DCA project running from 2010-2011, which aims to promote social inclusion of the poor in Kyrgyzstan and protect their rights.
