Mainstreaming

DanChurchAid has developed a HIV/AIDS staff policy and actively supports the development of such policies in its partner organisations.

Link between HIV/AIDS and lack of human rights

There is a clear link between HIV/AIDS and the lack of human rights, unequal gender relations and unequal socio-economic structures. Promoting gender equality is therefore an important preventive strategy also for low prevalence countries. Gender equality is thus a vital aspect of mainstreaming HIV/AIDS in other programmes.

Mainstreaming in other projects

DanChurchAid will work towards mainstreaming HIV/AIDS into other programme types and intervention areas, including emergency projects and programmes. DanChurchAid will seek to create synergy and cohesion between these programmes.
