The global AIDS epidemic continues to grow. An estimated 39.5 million people worldwide are living with HIV. An estimated 4.3 million became newly infected with HIV in 2005. An estimated 2.9 million lost their lives to AIDS in 2005.
On 1 December, World AIDS Day, DanChurchAid focuses on the AIDS pandemic, the young people and the role of the church in the fight against HIV/AIDS:
