DanChurchAid (DCA) has been implementing a Humanitarian Mine Action programme in Albania since 2002 and is planning to complete the clearance activities by the end of 2009 whereby Albania will be able to meet its clearance deadline under the Mine Ban Convention and the mine threat is removed from the lives of the Albanian population. These remaining mined areas are all located along the north eastern Albanian border – an area that was mined during the Kosovo conflict in 1999. Read more...
