| DanChurchAid supports TBBC's work with the approx. 140.000 Burmese refugees on the border between Burma and Thailand. TBBC seeks to provide the Burmese refugees with food and other basic necessities, but also uses considerable effort in organising the refugee populations through a high level of refugee participation in the programme. DanChurchAid has supported TBBC since the mid nineties and have continuously been impressed by Jack Dunford and his staff. The work they have carried out for the last 24 years for the welfare of the Burmese refugees as well as internally displaced in Eastern Burma is indeed of outstanding quality.
The commitment of Jack Dunford, his Deputy Director Sally Thompson and the rest of the TBBC Team is remarkable in the word of humanitarian service, and their years of dedication and sacrifice have inspired all around them.
DanChurchAid wholeheartedly believe that Jack Dunford and the TBBC deserve the 2008 Nansen Refugee Award.
