When Fadia Daibes, MSc Engineering and PhD, was hired in 2005 as consultant for DanChurchAid it quickly became obvious that we had hired a tireless advocate for peace, reconciliation and justice for the Palestinian people.

In 2008 Fadia Daibes became DanChurchAid’s first representative in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Fadia Daibes established the organisation’s first regional office in the Middle East in the town Ramallah on the West Bank.

”Fadia Daibes was a brilliant example of what the Palestinians – and Palestinian women – can achieve if they are allowed. She was a dignified representative for the Palestinian people’s fight for justice and freedom", says Malene Sønderskov, head of DanChurchAid’s activities in the Middle East.

We will remember Fadia Daibes for her knowledge and enthusiasm, her strategic vision and her tireless efforts for the people she loved. Her efforts have given DanChurchAid a central position in the humanitarian work in the Occupied Palestinian territories.
Fadia Daibes leaves behind her husband, the musician Said Murad, and two sons of nine and 16.
