EuropeAid has donated DanChurchAid EUR 270.000 to prevent and mitigate the violation of human rights in the northwestern of Honduras.

The project contributes to the promotion of human rights and protects the victims and the human rights defenders. DanChurchAid cooperates with Asociación de Jueces Por la Democracia, AJD (formal partner), Equipo de Reflexión Investigación y Comunicación, ERIC-SJ, Movimiento Amplio Por la Dignidad y la Justicia, MADJ and Foro de Mujeres Por la Vida (informal partners).

The project benefits 1.2 million inhabitants, especially those who are exposed and vulnerable to violations of their human rights because of their political positions or memberships to organizations.

The area of work is the northwest of the country, 18 municipalities in the departments of Cortes, Yoro, Atlántida, Colón, Santa Barbara and Copán.
