Demining team in village telling the locals about the danger of landmines

An important part of Humanitarian Mine Action is to inform children and adults about the dangers of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO), this is done through Mine Risk Education (MRE).

MRE is given to the local population by local staff educated by DanChurchAid so that the knowledge is sustained in the local area.

A mine risk education team consists of 5 persons, among them a leader responsible for the team and a driver who transports the team from village to village.

A mine risk education team of 5 persons can educate several thousands of people and can also educate new mine risk educators.
