The Commission is composed of nine prominent Africans, one Canadian, one Belgian and five Danes with expertise within politics, business life, economy and development respectively.
Anders Fogh Rasmussen chairs the Commission which should elaborate strategies for how to improve the effect of the international development aid.
“But it will of course also have influence on how we provide Danish development aid to Africa”, the Prime Minister says.
Christian Friis Bach looks forward to his work in the Commission which had its first meeting on 16 April.

“There is a pronounced need for the engagement in Africa which is reflected by the Commission,” the international director maintains.
He especially points at agricultural development, women’s rights and climate changes as three crucial areas of the Commission’s work, and he hopes he will be able to contribute forming a bridge to the civil society in Africa as well as in Denmark.
