Traffic accident victims commemorated

Three years ago a truck overturned in Angola claiming nine lives - the most tragic accident in the historiy of DanChurchAid
Thursday 10th of April 2008 was exactly three years after the most tragic accident in the history of DanChurchAid (DCA).
On that day a DCA truck, transporting deminers, overturned in Angola. The accident claimed 9 lives and a further 18 staff members were injured.
A church ceremony and visits to the graves was part of today’s commemoration of the people who died.
"The ceremony reminded us all about the necessity for us to take care of each other, especially when you work in areas of reduced safety and lack of access to adequate medical facilities.Our thoughts today are with the families of the people who died, and to the employees of DCA who were involved in the tragic accident," Jakob Harbo, Programme Manager, DanChurchAid, said.
