Humor against AIDS

More nurses needed

14/03/2007: Almost 40 million people worldwide are living with HIV, and every day more people are added to the list. One of the biggest obstacles is the severe lack of nurses and bad healthcare systems.

In Denmark there are more than 10 nurses for every 1000 citizens. In comparison there is less than one nurse for every 1000 citizen in some of the African countries where the aids pandemic is worst.

At the same time these countries are struggling with infections rates up to one fourth of the population. More than half of the hospital beds are taken up by terminally ill aids patients and there is an acute need for equipment and medicine. It is therefore crucial to educate more nurses and other healthcare personal to win the fight against AIDS.

Campaigning on April Fools' Day

On April Fools' Day Humour against AIDS is out on the streets in Denmark doing laughable, crazy and barrier-breaking events. Along with Danish nurses, nurse students and hundreds of other volunteers Humour against AIDS wants to create attention to the AIDS-catastrophe and urge people to support the fight against AIDS. As the previous years we will also be selling the famous red clown-noses. The money goes to educating more nurses and improving the public healthcare systems in Africa.

Help sell noses!

Do you want to help the AIDS victims in Africa, and do you have a couple of hours to spare on Friday the 30th of marts, Saturday the 31st of marts or Sunday the 1st of April? Then sign up for selling noses for Humour against AIDS on the Danish campaign website .
