Humantohuman a success at Roskilde Festival 2008

700 refund collectors worked hard during the festival collecting cans, bottles and cups. Thanks to their help we have reached our goal at 700.000 Danish Kroner – and we are still counting.
Also the humanitarian campaign “Fair Phone – Fair Future” was successful. The festival guests played unfair games, made art out of old electronics and helped the campaign by demanding fair phones with their signature.

In 2008, Roskilde Festival's humanitarian focus was on the unfair and dangerous conditions in the mines of Congo, where people put their lives at risk everyday to dig out the metals that are an essential part of our mobile phones. Read more...

Since 2002 Roskilde Festival and DanChurchAid have worked together on humantohuman, which is the idea behind Roskilde Festival’s humanitarian focus. The festival audience help people in need all over the world. From one person to another – human to human.

 

 

 



DanChurchAid played host to a number of activities at this year’s Roskilde, related to both the volunteer refund work and the humantohuman campaign focus on the DR Congo: “Fair Phone – Fair Future.” These activities were symbolic of the often-unfair mining practices that are behind the production of the many mobile phones we buy and use every day.
