Volunteers at Roskilde Festival 2005

In 2006, the humanitarian focus at Roskilde Festival was modern slavery under the slogan "Act against slavery".

Approx. 27 million people are victims of modern slavery. These people live and work under inhuman conditions, and they are often exposed to both mental and physical violence as well as sexual attacks.

More than 600 people volunteered for DanChurchAid collecting empty bottles and cans during the festival to support the fight against modern slavery in Cambodia.

More than 600 volunteers collected bottles, cans and glass for DKK 956,000

The humanitarian bottle refund collection in 2006 has raised DKK 956,000 (approx. USD 161,568). The money will be donated to DanChurchAid Cambodian partners, Friends & Ponleur Kumar, to support further activities to help children and young people to avoid slavery.
