DanChurchAid engaged in the MDGs
Many of DanChurchAid's work areas are directly related to the Millennium Goals, i.e. areas such as gender equality , food security and HIV/AIDS .
The rich countries' responsibility
Governments in developing nations have a great responsibility to secure development in all parts of their societies. At the UN Millennium meeting it was however also recognized that fulfilment of the Millennium Goals can only be reach by global partnerships where the rich countries also take responsibility.
Goal no. 8 is specifically about developing a global partnership for development, and covers areas such as rules for:
- Rules for international trade
- Third world debt issues
- Increased development aid.
Advocacy work
Through advocacy work, DanChurchAids works to make sure the governments keep their promises, i.e. through the Make Poverty History campaign.
