HIV/AIDS

Protection

24/09/2006: Unequal access and lack of control over productive resources and non-risky income opportunities often contribute in leading vulnerable women, girls and boys to engage in transactional sex. This is a major risk factor in HIV transmission.

DanChurchAid supports measures to increase control over productive resources and access to non-risky income opportunities for vulnerable groups, particularly women.

Legal assistance

DanChurchAid asssists social-support systems in cases where there are major gaps in government support, or where DanChurchAid’s support can help develop documentation on best practices and create models to influence legal duty bearers and other actors.

Medical treatment to remote areas

DanChurchAid will be directly involved in providing treatment for pilot projects that test the effectiveness and feasibility of using low cost, non-clinical testing, in remote areas where there would otherwise be no access to treatment. The models and results of these projects will be documented for use by governments.
