‘‘Me and my children slept with out eating any food for quite a lot of days. My husband left me two years ago and married to a wealthy women very close to our village.

When the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekanyesus / EECMY started this project, all the villagers gave me priority, so that I could benefit from the GIVE A GOAT project. The project gave me two female goats and now I have four goats. Last month, I sold one of the goats and bought grain for my self and the kids. I milk them and we drink the milk, it is very nutritious mainly for my kids”, say Mahder.
“Now, I am very much respected in the community. Previously my kids were forced to go and plead for food in the villages but not now. I thank Mekanyesus and all people who donated me with these goats”, Mahder explains, smiling.
