Talent Youth Association

11/02/2006: Talent Youth Association (TAYA) was established by ten youths who came from different colleges, universities and institution of higher learning. TaYA is legally registered with the Ministry of Justice to function as a local NGO in Ethiopia.

TAYA’s vision aspires to see a country where its young people are healthy, productive and self-reliant. TAYA’s mission is to promote, initiate and advocate for the improvement of adolescent reproductive health conditions and combating the spread of HIV/AIDS through participation, partnership and networking in rural and urban areas of Ethiopia.

TAYA is a formally registered member of the Ethiopian Youth Network, Youth to Youth Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Addis Network (YYAA) and the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Network of Africa (ANA).

Focus on advocacy

It is focusing on advocacy issues and endeavours to get young people to claim their right to participation in development issues, including HIV/AIDS. TAYA is further attempting to get influence on the Ethiopian engagement in the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) by advocating for young people to have a role to play in the preparations for the meetings.
