DanChurchAid has carried out relief aid with partners in Malawi since the 1970s, mainly by working through the Action by Churches Together (ACT) network and with support from Danida (Danish International Development Assistance).

Action by Churches Together (ACT) International, www.act-intl.org , is a global alliance of Protestant and Orthodox churches and related agencies working to support communities in emergencies worldwide. ACT was founded in 1995 and currently it has 126 members. Many of DanChurchAid’s Malawian partners are implementing members of ACT Malawi. In Malawi, the following organisations are implementing or fundraising members of ACT:
