Eagles Relief and Development Programme

Eagles Relief and Development Programme (ERDP) was founded in 2002 as a response to the food crisis in Malawi. ERDP works to strengthen poor local communities in the rural areas and give them a possibility to get their basic rights fulfilled. The organisation is not working with emergency activities only but also food security and HIV/AIDS. The emergency work is mainly carried out in Chikwawa, which is one of the most vulnerable areas of the country and most heavily hit by food insecurity, HIV/AIDS, poverty, drought and flooding, illiteracy etc. ERDP focuses on the needs of the most marginalised and vulnerable groups such as children, elderly, chronically ill, orphans, marginalised widows and handicapped people.
