16/07/2008: Fellowship of Christian Councils in East and Southern Africa (FOCCISA) met on 2nd and 3rd July 2008 in Gaborone, Botswana and discussed the problems Zimbabwe is going through at the moment.

FOCCISA's concerns are critically focused on the aspects and issues hinging on the humanitarian crisis on those people in the country and uprooted, the violence and human rights violations, intolerance for divergent political views. DanChurchAid's regional representative in Zambia Uffe Gjerding was present at the FOCCISA meeting.

DanChurchAid's partner FOCCISA urge SADC and the African Union to work for a transitional authority in Zimbabwe while efforts are being directed to creating a political environment that will ensure a legitimate government, seeing that the 27th June ’08 does not reflect the will of the Zimbabwean people.
