The contract is focused on rehabilitation of livelihood structures as well as water and sanitation in two southern districts of Bangladesh.

Clean water and sanitary facilities

The funds will benefit 48,125 persons directly with clean drinking water and sanitary facilities that will prevent the spreading of water borne diseases.

Cyclone Sidr

Over 3.400 people perished due to the 250 km/h winds that swept though Bangladesh in November 2007.

Millions have been affected and hundreds of thousand families have been made homeless. The four most affected southern districts were Barguna, Patuakali, Bagerhat and Pirojpur.

In addition, the livelihood of the worst affected families will be rehabilitated through provision of fishing nets and boats.
