DanChurchAid supports a comprehensive poverty-oriented development programme, through the Food Security Programme , in six districts in the northern provinces of Rangpur and Dinajpur.
DanChurchAid's involvement in Bangladesh is primarily through Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS), supporting RDRS projects via Danida frame grant funds. RDRS organises and empowers the rural poor, a total of 260 peoples organisations (federations) are organised and act as representatives of the poor.
Programme priorities:
Discrimination of women are widespread in Bangladesh. RDRS adds a strong gender profile to the development work contributing to other partners in the region. Exchange visits and gender policy sharing contribute to the positive synergy between partners regionally.
The administration and monitoring of DanChurchAid's work in Bangladesh takes place from the DanChurchAid regional office in New Delhi .
