The Lutheran World Service in Cambodia

LWF has worked in Cambodia since 1979 and is DCA’s largest partner in Cambodia implementing operations in Battambang, Kampong Chhnang, and Kampong Speu under the Food Security Programme. LWF adopts an integrated approach to addressing HIV in rural communities, and helps the HIV affected families gain sustainable livelihoods and a voice in their communities.

Cambodian Community of Women Living with HIV

The Cambodian Community of Women living with HIV/AIDS (CCW) is a network run by and for HIV positive women. The CCW holds a unique position in representing the “women’s voice” in Cambodia’s response to the HIV epidemic.


Maryknoll

Maryknoll is a Catholic organisation based in the United States. It established an office in Phnom Penh in 1989 and now runs five programmes in Cambodia including Seedlings of Hope, which has evolved from a focus on supporting HIV positive adults, to also supporting their children who are infected or made vulnerable by HIV.

Karol and Setha

Karol & Setha is an initiative that came out of the Maryknoll Seedlings of Hope programme that trains youth and adolescents on the sensitive topics of sexuality and relationships. In Cambodia, this programme was institutionalised in January 2004 as a way to address the growing incidence of social problems such as domestic violence, rape, drug use and prostitution. Karol & Setha’s innovative and holistic approach aims at enabling training participants to develop new life skills, and is tailored to appropriately meet the particular needs of young people in Cambodia today.
