Partners and activities

DanChurchAid works with both secular and faith based organisations in India. DCA's partner support focuses on empowerment, networking, advocacy, gender issues, development aid, emergency assistance and rehabilitation.

The Lutheran World Service in India

LWF/World Service began its activities in India in 1974. Initially most of the activities were primarily related to relief and emergency aid. It changed gradually and today the LWF/World Service programmes both in India, Nepal and Cambodia are well functioning development programmes. DanChurchAid has worked together with the LWF/World Service on development as well as relief and rehabilitation in South Asia for 25 years.

Church Auxiliary for Social Action

CASA is a large Indian relief and development agency established in co-operation between the Orthodox and the Lutheran churches in India. The main objective of the organisation is to improve the living standards of the poorest and help disaster victims. CASA works with large integrated projects and programmes with a variety of activities such as health, human rights, education, environmental issues, food security, awareness building etc.

Arcot Lutheran Church

ALC has a very solid contact with the communities in its working area through many years of providing service within the fields of education and health in India. The church is committed to a paradigm shift towards a rights-based approach and has a solid experience in child centred approaches. ALC will implement child centred and women’s rights programme.

National Centre for Advocacy Studies

National Centre for Advocacy Studies (NCAS) is very experienced in advocacy work at all levels. NCAS combines grass roots level interventions with people centred advocacy and policy advocacy, including democracy and good governance.

Tamil Nadu Dalit Women’s Network

The TNDW network is experienced in organising grass roots Dalit women. The network provides leadership training to Dalit women. They are experienced in lobby and advocacy at regional, national and international levels.


Sahanivasha

Sahanivasha is very experienced in combining concrete initiatives to assist the Dalit population to secure their right to food including land rights with lobby at all levels. Sahanivasha provides many examples of best practices in challenging the government or other stakeholders to obtain rights.
