DanChurchAid's objective in India is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life among the poorest and most marginalised groups, in particular dalits . AIDS, gender equality, peace and reconciliation are all part of the programme work.

Tsunami recovery programme

For DanChurchAid the overall focus for the tsunami recovery programme is on the dalit communities . Focus is on rebuilding damaged communities and reconstructing sustainable livelihood activities. The tsunami recovery programme will continue until the end of 2008. Read more...

People's participation

DanChurchAid's programme work in India includes the Political Space Programme focussing on increasing the participation of marginalised people in democratic processes.

The right to food

From a rights perspective, food security is aiming at ensuring right to land, fair wages and right to access to productive resources. The Food Security Programme involves community organisation and mobilisation.

Disaster preparedness and relief aid

The disaster preparedness and emergency interventions are carried out from a rights perspective. Community organisation and mobilisation are becoming increasingly important features of the Relief Aid programme .
