Programme work

In Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, DanChurchAid works in a consortium with other European organisations and with local networks. The consortium is the Ecumenical Consortium for Central Asia, ECCA. Its office is in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. DanChurchAid is working with a regional approach in Central Asia with the following programmes: Political Space and Basic Social Services (HIV/AIDS) .

Strengthening civil society

The strategic priority in Central Asia is to strengthen civil society. The NGOs that DanChurchAid has chosen to work with are all striving to defend the civil and social human rights of their constituency and secure them access to basic social services through a rights-based advocacy approach.

Supporting local NGOs

A large part of DanChurchAid's work also focuses on strengthening local NGOs by teaching administrative skills and promoting democratic leadership as well as guidance in dealing with the authorities. Read more...
