17/06/2008: DanChurchAid is working with these partners in Kyrgyzstan.

Arysh: Arysh works with settlers/migrants in settlements around Bishkek. They establish and train self-help-groups (SHG) in income generating activities, business planning and lobbying & advocacy. Arysh assists target groups in claiming their rights and establish dialogue with local authorities about infrastructure in settlements.

Development and Co-operation in Central Asia (DCCA): DCCA provides trainings to smaller and less experienced NGO’s in establishment and consolidation of self-help-groups (SHG), lobbying & advocacy, micro credits, income generating activities, etc. DCCA is increasingly involved in the south of Kyrgyzstan working with different ethnic groups.

Centre for Protection of Children (CPC): CPC works with working children, i.e. children age 6-16 working in the bazaars and streets. The children are from broken families and lack education. CPC provides a daily meal to the children and train them in children’s rights, reproductive health, and assists them in going back to school. CPC is also supported by Operations Day's Work (OD, Denmark) and is a founding member of Advocacy Network for Children.

Advocacy Network for Children: The network was established by three Kyrgyz NGO's, among them Centre for Protection of Children and Center Interbilim. The aim is to contribute to the improvement of children's conditions in Kyrgyzstan through protection of their rights and promotion of their interests. The network's activities aim to create a legislative base in Kyrgyzstan complying to the best interests of the children and to build the capacities of children for their participation in decision making processes.

Center Interbilim (CIB): CIB is a well known and experienced NGO participating in political processes in Kyrgyzstan, e.g. constitutional reform, and lobbying the rights of citizens. CIB is also providing trainings in advocacy and lobbying to other NGOs in Central Asia and voter training to Kyrgyz citizens.

Resource Centre for Elderly (RCE) RCE works with self-help-groups (SHG) of elderly/pensioners in Issyk Kul and Chui regions. SHG carry out income generating activities and lobby their rights. RCE is a strong advocate for pensioners’ rights in Kyrgyzstan and founder of regional Ngo platform AgeNet.

AgeNet: The network works for the advancement of responsibility of state authorities and civil society to improve the situation of elderly people. AgeNet promotes the principles of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing.

Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA): ADRA works with elderly/pensioners and pre-pensioners in Bishkek. ADRA creates self-help-groups (SHG) who carry out income generating activities and share daily meals. Social workers assist the elderly with dialogue with authorities. ADRA is also member of AgeNet.

Public Association of Social Protection of Population (PASPP) (Russ. OOSZN): PASPP works with and for pensioners in Kyrgyzstan. PASPP monitors legal framework and implementation of laws concerning pensioners and lobby the interests of pensioners. They have local branches in all oblasts and are in a process of creating self-help-groups (SHG).

Public Fund "JR": "JR" plays a key role in creation and development of SHGs in the Batken area in Southern Kyrgyzstan. The NGO supports the needy and most social vulnerable layers of the population in improving their situation. "JR" supports poor villagers by helping them establish SHGs in order to create income generating activities. "JR" also offers micro credits for the target group. "JR" works closely with local leaders on both governmental and religious levels.

Public Union "Delight and Consolation": "Delight and Consolation" works with poor and marginalised people to support and protect their rights. "Delight and Consolation" also organises social aid to the most vulnerable layers of the population, i.e. disabled people, children and elderly, and support these groups in establishing SHGs. All activities of "Delight and Consolation" are carried out in close collaboration with the Russian Orthodox parish in the town of Kant.
