Partners and activities

DanChurchAid supports local Russian organisations working to secure the rights of the poor. DanChurchAid has established a successful cooperation between churches, NGOs, and local authorities making it possible to develop projects that do not only have a local relevance, but can also serve as role-models for projects in other regions.

List of partners in Russia:

Christian Interchurch Diaconal Council

Kamen

Kamen is a fairly young NGO in the regional capital of Pskov near the Estonian border. The organisation carries out drugs rehabilitation work and works to secure the rights of young people with HIV/AIDS.

DanChurchAid cooperates with Kamen in an institution building programme to build capacity of Russian NGOs to manage drugs and HIV/AIDS projects. This goal is reached through a 'peer-to-peer' primary prevention programme and through the establishment of new rehabilitation facilities for the target group in Pskov. The programme includes the establishment of a Pskov council to coordinate prevention and rehabilitation work with existing detoxification and harm reduction work.
