The right and opportunity to take part in the conduct of political processes at all levels in society is a universal human right.
In the Palestinian context patriarchal values deprive poor women in particular of most political and economic rights, and subject them to severe male discrimination and abuse.

Our aim is to advocate for the adoption of laws that promote gender equality, raise awareness among men and women of womens’ rights and provide legal aid and counselling for women whose rights have been violated. |

WCLAC is a Palestinian womens’ organisation addressing the causes and consequences of gender-based discrimination in society. The organisation provides counselling and legal sevices for victims of violence, teaches women their rights and tries to protect the legal status of women through bills and statements.
