DanChurchAid carries out a multi-pronged operation concerning the crisis in the Middle East.

The Humanitarian interventions

DanChurchAid supports ACT member the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) in Beirut. MECC is cooperating closely with other NGOs and with the Lebanese authorities.

ACT member, the Middle East Council of Churches is responding to the situation through their program the Inter-church Network for Development in Lebanon (ICNDR). DanChurchAid has given 100.000 DKK of our own funds to the MECC emergency effort.

In the Palestinian occupied territories we are also extending our humanitarian assistance while at the same time pointing out clearly who carries full responsibility for the basic needs of the population.

Information and advocacy

In many ways the conflict in Lebanon is similar to the conflict in Palestine: None of the parties respect the International Humanitarian Law, and the international community is not in any respect intervening effectively to uphold these principles. This is the focus of our advocacy initiatives.
