DanChurchAid (DCA) is a decentralised organisation. Increased decentralisation requires coherent and transparent quality management to ensure a high and uniform quality of projects and programmes and to ensure that essential learning and experience is captured, shared, and used in the continuous development and improvement of the entire portfolio of DCAs international activities.

DCA is continuously working with the challenge of being a decentralised, global organisation, and at the same time ensure that knowledge and learning from all areas of the organisation are captured, documented and institutionalised in order to improve the quality of DCA’s work.

Quality management at all stages of the project and programme cycle is systematised in the Programme and Project Manual (PPM) on DCA’s Intra.

A quality management guideline outlines DCA’s quality management system with reference to the concrete tools and guidelines available. The guideline is intended to provide an overview for DCA staff and DCA’s stakeholders of how DCA ensures the quality of its portfolio of international activities.

Objective

The objective of DCA’s Quality Management System is to ensure a high and uniform quality of projects and programmes, and to ensure that essential learning and experience is captured, documented, shared and used in the continuous development and improvement of DCA’s international work.

Quality Management in DCA's International Work

In DCA, Quality Management refers to processes in place to focus on quality and to systematically ensure the feed-back loop and integration between quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement. Hence, quality management is closely integrated with knowledge management. DCA's management holds a special responsibility to ensure follow up on findings and recommendations as a continuous quality improvement of DCA’s international activities and internal quality management system.

Therefore important forums for discussing and following up on quality management and quality improvement of DCA's work and quality management system as such are International Management Meetings, Senior Management Meetings, Head Office unit meetings, seminars organised for Head of Programmes and Country Directors and online-training sessions e.g. PPM training.
