DCA, along with its three programme partners, UTSA (Unite Theatre Social Action), FIVDB (Friends in Village Development Bangladesh), BNKS (Bolipara Nari Kalyan Somity) have been implementing this project with a view to ensure emergency humanitarian assistance, and to enhance resilience of both Rohingya and Host Community.

DCA provides life-saving and integrated multi-sector assistance through livelihoods support, aiming to increase access to food through increased vegetable production and access to income. The project also reinforces DCA’s engagement on gender and GBV in promoting women’s participation in work-related activities.

DCA partners aim to create an enabling environment for women living in the Chattogram division to support them to claim and advocate for their rights. The project also targets to increase participation of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) in education through increasing access and inclusion to education institutes.

The integration of life-saving and early recovery activities in both Host and Rohingya communities together with DCA’s collaboration with its partners, is fully in line with DCA’s focus on the nexus approach, linking humanitarian assistance with development support and peacebuilding to sustain improvements, and ensuring relevant and significant impacts. Rights-holder and community-centered methodologies as well as extensive consultation with a broad range of stakeholders continuously informs project design to guarantee, that projects are meaningful in the targeted locations, and aims to increase localization and local ownership of the project activities, as well as the likelihood of it being sustained even after the project ends.
