Project Description

DG INTPA has provided DCA with financial support of 5.500.000 EUR to reach the overall objective of the project: to contribute to the improvement of economic opportunities and strengthening of resilience for the communities most vulnerable to human induced and natural disaster crises, through measures that will increase livelihoods and employment, and better access to basic services.

The primary beneficiaries are vulnerable and poor households, including mothers, malnourished children, children under the age of 5, pregnant lactating women (PLW), children affected by severe acute malnutrition (SAM), elderly and people with disability, pregnant women, and women of reproductive age. In total, the project estimated to directly benefit approximately 202,830 individuals (103,443 female and 99,387 male). 

The expected results of the project include:  

  • Increased access to safe water supply and improved hygiene and sanitation practice  
  • Enhanced and diversified livelihoods and economic opportunities  
  • Improved access to quality health and nutrition services
  • Stronger capacity of communities’ and institutions’ disaster risk management  
  • Improved protection of lives and livelihoods for the most vulnerable communities during crises situations
