How your donation fights poverty
When disaster strikes, a fast response is essential. Basic necessities are needed when people face an emergency such as a nature disaster, a humanitarian food crisis or war. Blankets, tents, medicine, food, water – it is all needed immediately.
DanChurchAid's work consists of more than being present during a major disaster. Long term development and poverty reduction help make the poorest people less vulnerable should the disaster strike. Strengthening peoples own capacity to face a crisis consists of securing food access, educating rural farmers in sustainable farming, providing vulnerable families with new and better crops or improving their ability to produce and trade goods on local markets.
To support peoples' rights of dignity is also to advocate human rights. The third part of DanChurchAid's work is to raise awareness of a right-based-approach to development, intending to help the poorest people claim their basic rights.
Un-earmarked donations are extremely valuable to DanChurchAid's global activities. General donations enable us to provide instant help when needed, and supports the ability to have a rapid response in case of disaster and to work long-term.
