ECHO has awarded DCA with EUR 500,000 to help drought affected communities in the Amhara zone in Ethiopia.


USAID has donated USD 620,000.00 (a contribution equivalent to 540,939.60 EUR) to DCA with the purpose of helping farmers who have been constrained in productivity of crops and their livelihoods as a result of climatic or economic shock.

ECHO has awarded DanChurchAid with EUR 1,500,000 to enhance resilience the drought prone districts Rayitu, Dawe-Kachen and Gurada-Mole of the Bale zone in Ethiopia.

ECHO has awarded DCA with EUR 700,000.00 in order to provide emergency sanitation and hygiene assistance to South Sudanese refugees in Gambella, Ethiopia. DCA and partners will accordingly provide life-saving assistance to 20,000 refugees by contributing with emergency sanitation infrastructure to the newly established site, the Jewi camp, with showers, latrines, hand washing facilities, solid waste management and proper drainage.

Since the beginning of January 2015, heavy rains have caused the most severe flooding across Malawi for decades, causing death, injury and displacement of people, while also leaving infrastructure completely damaged, destroying households and sweeping away household assets such as livestock, clothing and utensils.

Emerging from more than two decades of war, the challenges for the Republic of South Sudan are immense. The main challenge has been the displacement of peoples from their ancestral homes to other locations in South Sudan and its neighbouring countries, resulting in conflict and tension between the IDP’s and host communities in terms of land rights, power relations and inter-communal matters.  


EuropeAid has provided DanChurchAid with EUR 296.761 to protect and promote women and girls’ rights through prevention and response to Sexual Gender Based Violence in Southern Karamoja, Uganda.


ECHO has provided DanChurchAid with EUR 300.000 enabling DCA to continue its support to Sudanese refugees and host communities in- and around Bambasi refugee camp in Ethiopia, through a multisectorial intervention.





ECHO has provided DanChurchAid with EUR 500.000 to support the fifth phase of an ongoing resilience project in Ethiopia.

ECHO has provided DanChurchAid with EUR 847,000 to reduce incidences of water and sanitation related diseases amongst internally displaced people and host communities of Central Darfur.
